Customs & Taxes – Please Note

  • United States: Import duties are prepaid (DDP). The line marked “Shipping + U.S. import duties” at checkout is not postage alone. Since April 2026 the United States has applied a steep tariff to copper and copper-alloy goods, and a large part of that line is the import duty we pay on your behalf, together with the customs broker’s fee and international postage from Kyoto. None of it is built into the item price. We would rather show it to you at checkout than let it reach you as a bill later — once you have paid, there is nothing extra for the recipient to pay on delivery. We review these rates every quarter, as U.S. tariff policy continues to change.
  • Other countries: Import duties, taxes, and customs clearance fees are not included and may be charged by your local customs. These charges are the recipient's responsibility and are usually collected by the carrier or at pickup — please don't confuse them with extra shipping fees. We recommend checking your country's customs rules before ordering. Customs inspection may also extend delivery times.
